hands to yourself, por favor.

Reese has starting hitting. So upsetting! When I tell her 'no' or if she is frustrated with something I have done or said she hits me. She does it once and then steps back to analyze how I will handle it. I have two options-- ignore it or time-out. I am really going back and forth with this one. I've opted for time-out twice (ok, so it's only happened a total of three times). Her time-out is two minutes long and she HATES it. I am not sure if she is too young to get the whole consequence thing, but she's got manipulation down. Hopefully I will figure it out... or maybe she will just stop. right.

Noah, on the other hand spoke Spanish today (it was the most random thing). He was counting and then I heard "quatro, cinco..." -- I froze and thought, "did he just randomly count in spanish??" I didn't even know he knew one word. So then I asked him to count to ten in Spanish. And he did. Joe and I were in shock and awe. I can't think of where he would have picked this up. I guess those countess hours of dora/diego books, games and shows have paid off. We are ready for Cabo! And if he keeps it up with Kai Lan we will be ready for China before you know it. He already runs around saying Ne Hai (sp?) for hello (I think that's what it means anyway.)

Joe is the Today's Special tomorrow so be sure to tune in. As for tonight-- the kids are in bed, the house is clean (god bless Rita the housekeeper) and the chick flick is in the dvd player. ahhhhh.

Time out does not work! She's also not getting it either. Just move her away from you or to a spot by herself and try to ignore her, get her out of the situation where she hit. She wants your attention and will get it however she can. I know it's very frustrating, but be patient. She will learn and grow out of this.
