Superbowl XLIII was quite the experience. We got down there early and the crowds were much more, how shall I say..... trashy then years ago when we went. It was almost entirely Pittsburgh (probably 95%) and all the chicks had their cut off shirts and there were several mullets present. The people were exceptionally rude. Or perhaps I was territorial because it's my city and everyone was TRASHING it. I have never seen so much litter in my entire life. ughhh.
Did I mention parking all over was $100/car within 1.5 miles of the stadium. holy cow.
I have never seen so many people with their loud speakers screaming about Jesus and how everyone is going to hell. Hey, it's a free country so it doesn't bother me. I was, however, amazed at how the lovely Pittsburgh fans were harassing these people. In their face, screaming. Goodness. I have never seen anything like it. Even around small children (note to self: never bring my kids to the Superbowl).
But we did run into a couple celebrities down there--Al Roker, Jessie Palmer (the bachelor--almost the worst one ever if it wasn't for the "prince"), Snoop, Condi, Chris Tucker and a few reality stars. I think most had a VIP entrance and for the life of me I couldn't find it. :(
Face value for tickets was starting at $800 up to $1000. We never saw any one ticket drop below this price. The crazies from Pittsburgh were not about to miss this game. We stayed until after kick-off to see if the prices would drop, but they didn't. We were not about to pay that price for two teams we really didn't care about. Although, I would have liked to have seen the Cards pull it off. We heard Faith Hill and Jennifer Hudson sing and saw them on the big screen. I was on the edge (of tears) when JH sang and then the jets flew over (nearly giving me a heart attack). They come out of nowhere, zoom by super fast and are LOUD. It was all very patriotic and I will admit I got a little torn up.
We were home by second quarter and caught the rest on tv.
Now, the countdown is on for next SB in Miami. Tom Brady better get his head out of Buntchen's a*s so we can get there!

I love that Condi went to the superbowl. I love it even more that she was checking herself in the car window.
Hope you enjoyed the excitement!
