why he got my vote.

"I am frustrated ... that we are preventing the advancement of important science that could potentially impact millions of suffering Americans ... My hope, and the hope of so many in this country, is to provide our researchers with the means to explore the uses of embryonic stem cells so that we can begin to turn the tide on the devastating diseases affecting our nation and our world."

-President Elect Obama (from 2007)

As I've said before, I support this important research. Although I believe McCain would have supported it (and has shown he has in the past) it was my belief that Obama would fully embrace it. This research could prove to help and cure so many including my mother with Multiple Sclerosis and my son with Cerebral Palsy. But like many, I heard the acceptance speech and I hope for the best. I hoped he meant what he said. I hoped it wouldn't take years to see it.

From the AP today:

"President-elect Obama plans to use his executive powers to make an immediate impact when he takes office, perhaps reversing Bush administration policies on stem cell research..."

When I read it I lost my breath. It finally seems within reach.
