first test results.

Noah's first round of results are in. Here's what we discovered:

Apolipoprotein A-I (The main protein component in HDL) is really low. One would think having low cholesterol would be a great thing. But apparently when it's too low your liver works harder (from what I understand). I have low cholesterol as well. They told me to feed him lots of eggs (at least one a day) and hopefully it will come up. If not then they recommended a cholesterol supplement to raise it.

I am on an egg mission. :)

Hair (metals) and Urine (peptites and OaT) to follow. We are still trying to capture the poop (I know, too much info.)

Hi Nic,.. i had to comment since it hit my area of nutrition :-). We usually encourage parents to give olive oil, peanut butter, nuts, fish, avocado.. i know these aren´t easy foods for kids to eat, but if you can incorporate them at all in his diet the benefits will be higher and faster in raising the HDL. Egg will help too, but it will raise the LDL fast as well, and that can be bad too. just a thought .. miss ya!
