Spoke with the advocate yesterday. Our IEP meeting is monday morning at 7:45. She was prepping me with what to say and what not to say and coaching me through the process. What I did not expect to come out of the meeting was her conclusion for Noah. She feels due to his grades, his progress and his current status that we should push for full-time inclusion in the general education Kindergarten classroom. (what's that? I think I just passed out) She thinks he would greatly benefit from him being around his typically developing peers for the majority of the day. She is fighting to get him a full-time aid.
There are so many people attending this meeting-- the teacher, gen. ed. teacher, vice principal, staffing people, ot, pt, slp, and now they are saying possibly a district person (whoa!). They each will probably need one of Reese's pampers after they hear that the advocate is pushing for full inclusion with a full-time aid. yikes. It'll be interesting, for sure.
On that note, Noah did receive his first report card and got glowing reviews. He is above average in every single area. My smart, smart boy. :)
More to come on Monday regarding this (((nervous))).
